Search

SEO from day one, not bolted on in month six

Technical SEO is an architecture decision, not a plugin. Getting it right during the build costs nothing extra. Retrofitting it later means rebuilding the things that were done wrong.

During the build

What ships with every site

These are decisions made while the site is being built, which is the only time several of them can be made cheaply.

  • Structured data

JSON-LD describing what your business is, what it offers and where it operates — as a connected graph, not five disconnected snippets. This is how search engines understand a page, and increasingly how AI search decides what is worth citing.

  • Semantic markup

One h1, a heading outline that reflects the actual document, real landmarks and descriptive link text. The same structure that makes a page usable with a screen reader is the structure a crawler reads.

  • Core Web Vitals, handled

Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift are treated as build constraints. Static generation, edge caching, self-hosted fonts and images that reserve their space before they load.

  • The crawl basics, correct

Canonical URLs, a generated sitemap that updates on deploy, a deliberate robots policy, and metadata written per page rather than templated across the site.

None of this is a ranking guarantee — nobody honest sells one. It is the part that is fully within our control, done properly, so that the content work has something to compound on.

The argument

Why “we will do SEO later” costs more

A site built on a page builder with a slow theme, no heading structure and a rendering model search engines struggle with cannot be fixed with a plugin. The remedy is a rebuild, which is why so many agencies sell one.

The compounding problem is worse. Search visibility accrues slowly — a site that launches with correct fundamentals starts accruing on day one, while one that gets its technical pass a year in spends that year building nothing. You do not get the year back.

Ongoing service

Blogs and whitepapers, written in your voice

Technical SEO gets you eligible to rank. Content is what you actually rank with — and it is the half most agencies quietly leave to the client, where it dies.

Added to your retainer as an ongoing content programme. We work from how you already write and speak — your existing material, your sales calls, the way you explain your work to a customer — so what publishes sounds like your business rather than like generic industry filler.

  • Articles that answer real search demand

Topics chosen from what your customers actually search before they buy, not from a keyword list detached from intent. Built as clusters around your core service pages so each piece strengthens the others through internal linking.

  • Whitepapers and long-form for authority

Depth pieces that demonstrate expertise rather than assert it — the format that earns citations, links and the kind of trust signals a service page cannot generate on its own. Also the natural gate for lead capture if you want one.

  • Your brand voice, captured and kept consistent

A documented voice profile — vocabulary, sentence rhythm, how technical you get, what you never say — so the fifteenth article reads like the first, and both read like you.

  • Published, structured and measured

Every piece ships with its own metadata and structured data, gets linked into the existing site properly, and is tracked against organic traffic and enquiries so you can see which topics actually convert.

Proof

Reported against outcomes, not impressions

Organic traffic is a means, not the result. A thousand visitors who never enquire is a worse month than eighty who do, and any agency reporting the first number without the second is managing your perception rather than your business.

Content and technical work both feed the same monthly report: what ranked, what it brought in, and what it turned into. That is the analytics side of the service, and it is where the SEO work gets held to account.
